Programme Matter and the Universe

Infrastructures

The programme Matter and the Universe features a variety of scientific infrastructures: at the 'huge' end of the scale, we have international particle accelerators like the LHC. At the 'smaller' end of the scale, we have a cryogenic installation with crystal bolometers for Dark Matter searches like EDELWEISS, or software like the KASCADE Cosmic ray Data Centre, which will provide open access to research data obtained with the KASCADE-Grande experiment after the experiment has been concluded. The table below gives an overview of these grouped by infrastructure category and by programme topic.

An overview of the infrastructures, including planned instruments, is available per topic following these links Topic 1, Topic 2, and Topic 3.
